Digital documents are easy to copy and edit, which gives anyone the possibility of stealing your work or viewing privileged information. PDF Sign&Seal can help you protect your documents, by adding digital signatures and password-protecting the files, as the name clearly points out. The software allows you to insert other elements as well, like stamps or watermarks and it places a wide range of useful tools at your disposal, for editing documents, converting them and more.

PDF Sign&Seal is free to try for a limited period of time, without any serious restrictions. It provides support for all modern Windows platforms, including the 2003 and 2008 Server editions. The software requires MS Visual C++ 2012. If you don't have it on your computer, the setup wizard will install it for you.

In terms of appearance, PDF Sign&Seal resembles Adobe's PDF reader, but the options it provides make it a more useful utility. You can load several PDF files on the same interface, on separate tabs and perform various operations, through a series of options, presented on ribbon menus. Documents can be signed and sealed right away, by clicking the appropriate options on one of the ribbon menus. You can also find an option for signing and sealing your document in a single run.

Signatures may contain multiple elements. The software comes with a few sample signatures and it allows you to edit them or create your own signature styles. You may customize and preview a signature on separate windows. It is possible to insert text, pictures, contact details, custom drawings and move or resize them directly on the preview window, by clicking and dragging.

Sealing a document will disable various features, like the possibility of copying or modifying a document's contents, printing and others. The features will be disabled, regardless of what program will be used to open the sealed document. Besides setting up a password for opening a sealed document, you may create a second password as well, to enforce the aforementioned restrictions.

The program works only with PDF files, but if you have documents in other formats, you can use PDF Sign&Seal's conversion functions. It gives you the possibility of converting single files to PDF, at a moment's notice, but you can also batch convert multiple documents. When batch converting, you can set the program to perform certain actions automatically, like opening the document, signing and sealing it and others.

Pros

You can add digital signatures to your PDF documents and password-protect the files. It is also possible to restrict various functions, like copying or printing. Also, the software provides many useful features, which make it an excellent substitute for traditional PDF readers.

Cons

You may need some time to figure out how to use certain features. While using PDF Sign&Seal, unauthorized users won't be able to open and modify your PDF documents.
